ABOUT ME

I grew up in a house where music was constantly present, and began to study piano as a young teen. Starting with classical pieces from Beethoven etc., I soon progressed to ‘Standards’, Ballads and show tunes (all favorites of my Mom).

The sheet music in the new world I entered had lyrics! Words, that the author had chosen as a companion to the notes…or was it the other way around? A little of both I suspect. Song lyrics are poetry to me, and are the ‘Voice’ of the Notes. 

When I began to create photographs, I found myself transported back to my days at the keyboard…seeing AND hearing photographs as I captured them. I felt a calling, in the truest sense of the word.

The images in these collections represent pictures and stories. Some of them chronicle intentional journeys and voyages of discovery. Others were found at random…a curious look at something up close…’what’s that on the sidewalk?’…pulling the car over to admire and interact with the gift which caught my eye. 

I have chosen and curated every one of them to share with you, selecting those which spoke and continue to speak to me.

If you hear song lyrics, poetry, or your inner voice chiming in as you make your way through these photographs, I’ve done my job.
